Robert H. Turner of St. Johnsbury, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the age of 85.
He was born on Sept. 11, 1930 in Hanover, New Hampshire, the son of
Hazen and Christine (Lake) Turner. On June 18, 1955 he and Gertrude 'Trudy' Donna
were married; they recently observed their 61st wedding anniversary.
Bob graduated from the St. Johnsbury Trade School in 1949 and worked in
the electrical department at Fairbanks for 40 years. He was a member of
the Grace United Methodist Church. He was a fan of the New York
Football Giants and loved the Boston Red Sox. The family has fond
memories of camping especially in the White Mountains. He and Trudy
had resided at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center since December of last year.
He is survived by his wife Trudy (1248 Hospital Dr., St. Johnsbury VT 05819);
two children: daughter Kathleen "Kathy" Lutter and husband Clyde
of Gaithersburg, Maryland; son Mark Turner and wife Cindy of St.
Johnsbury; four grandchildren: Timothy and Joshua Lutter, Sarah and
Justin Turner; sister-in-law Dorothy Lynaugh of St. Johnsbury, brother-in-
law Normand Donna of Florida; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased locally by a brother and sister, Hazen and Virginia
Turner, and by Bob's twin brother Richard who lived in Greenfield, Massachusetts.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home on Sunday
afternoon, July 10, from 2-4 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home Monday, July 11,
at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kirk Thompson officiating.
