BENNETT: Robert "Bob" E. , of St. Johnsbury, died suddenly
Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Northeastern Vermont Regional
Hospital at the age of 77. He was born in St. Johnsbury
Valentine's Day 1927, the son of George A. and Marie
(Beauregard) Bennett. Bob served his country during World War Ii
in the United States Navy. A graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy,
Class of 1945, he worked for Fairbanks Scales as a mechanical
engineer for over 30 years. Bob was a member of St. John the
Evangelist Church; he enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading,
but his greatest enjoyment was his family. He was extremely
devoted to his grandchildren, supporting sports events and being
there in so many ways. On June 4, 1951, he married Rejeanne
(Prevost) Bennett, who survives him in St. Johnsbury. Other
survivors include a son and his wife, Stephen and Zanna Bennett
of St. Johnsbury; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Richard
Stokes of Groton; a brother, George Bennett of St. Johnsbury;
nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He was
predeceased by a son, Michael Bennett, July 11, 1997. A funeral
Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church,
Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Patrick Forman
celebrant. Spring burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends
are invited to meet the family at Sayles Funeral Home, Monday
(tonight), from 6-7:30 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be
