Dr. Regis Paul Nolin , 84, East Dorset, passed away at his home
on Sept. 27, 2006. He was born April 27, 1922, in St. Johnsbury,
Vt., the son of Joseph and Mabel (Emmons) Nolin. He attended
St. Johnsbury Academy, the University of Vermont and the
Chicago College of Podiatry. During World War II he served in the
Pacific Theatre as pharmacist's mate second class in the U.S.
Navy. He married Joyce Whalen on April 28, 1956, in
Manchester, Vt. Dr. Nolin practiced podiatry with offices in
Burlington and St. Johnsbury until 1976. He then moved to East
Dorset where he continued a part-time practice until his
retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and maintaining his
yard and garden. He had a way with animals and had very special
relationships with many dogs and cats. Survivors include his wife
of 50 years, Joyce; one daughter, Karen Nolin Gavett and her
husband Ian of Charlotte, Vt.; one brother, Charles of St.
Johnsbury; and his two grandsons, Devon and Dana Gavett. He
was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Gratia Roy. A
memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at 10 a.m. at
St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manchester. He will be cremated
and a graveside service will be held in St. Johnsbury at the
convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made
