BARRETT: Paul , of Concord, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at the St.
Johnsbury Health and Rehab Center at the age of 77. He was born in St.
Johnsbury on April 10, 1927, the son of Philemon and Antoinette
(Toussaint) Barrett. Mr. Barrett served his country in the United States
Navy during World War II. He had worked at Fairbanks Scales for over 40
years as an engineer. Paul had many interests including the Vermont
National Guard, Vermont State Guard and Civil Air Patrol; deputy sheriff for
both Essex and Caledonia counties, and a member of the Concord FAST
Squad (EMT). Other activities included the Knights of Columbus, scuba
diving, amateur radio and flying as a former pilot. He loved hunting and
most of all spending time with family and friends at camp on Miles Pond.
On Sept. 27, 1949, he married Bev (Lillicrap) who survives him currently at
the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab Center. Other survivors include a son,
Maj. Thomas Jay Barren of Hampton, Va., a daughter, Lynn (Barrett) and
husband Greg Jenne of Woodbury, N.J.; four grandchildren, Christopher,
Laura, Mathew and Sarah; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral
Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church Tuesday, Nov. 2,
at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends are invited to
meet the family at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m. Contributions in
