Patricia Lacroix , 84, of St. Johnsbury, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009,
at her home at The Canterbury Inn. She was born Aug. 19, 1924, in
Lyndonville, the daughter of Burton D. and Arlene (Blake) Currier. She
attended graded schools in Lyndonville and St. Johnsbury and graduated
from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1942. On Feb. 18, 1943, she married Frank
Lacroix who predeceased her in 1990. Her oldest child Paul Lacroix was
killed in Vietnam in 1970. She is survived by her children: Pamela Passut
and husband Blaine of St. Johnsbury, Charles Lacroix of Rutland, David
Lacroix of Burlington, Kim Gilding and husband Bill of St. Johnsbury; her
grandchildren: Tracey Billings, Jeremy Passut and wife Tamara, Lisa
Pearson, Michelle Richling and husband John, Becky Gilding and Javier
Castillo, Betsy Legendre and husband Ted; great-grandchildren: Matthew,
Katie and Jacob; Lydia; Jack; Emma and Ava; and Julia; her sister Joyce
Butcher and husband Bob of Rhode Island. Paul's wife, now Roberta
Tanner of Lyndonville, always remained close. She is also survived by a
sister-in-law Rita Bean and husband Edsel; brother-in-law Richard Lacroix
and wife Marjorie; sister-in-law Marie Sham; her very special friend Ann
Martin; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also predeceased by a
brother Douglas Currier; and brother-in-laws Leo, Omer, and Doria
Lacroix. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John the
Evangelist Church. Cremation will follow the Mass. Burial will be at the
convenience of the family at the St. Johnsbury Center Cemetery. There will
be no visiting hours. Memorial contributions, marked for "The Activity
