Olive B. Morey of Railroad Street in St. Johnsbury passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the age of 87.
She was born in West Danville, Vt. on Oct. 14, 1926, one of eight children born to Henry and Elsie
(McLellan) Bolton. Her husband Earl predeceased her on Dec. 14, 2000.
Olive graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1945. Upon graduation from Brightlook Nurses
Training School, she worked as a registered nurse at both Brightlook and Northeastern Vermont
Regional hospitals. Olive was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary 793. She enjoyed playing cribbage,
knitting and traveling. She was predeceased by three brothers; Everett, Raymond and Billy Bolton;
two sisters: Gerry Chamberlin and Betty Daniels. Olive is survived by her four sons:
Henry Morey and wife Shirley of St. Johnsbury, David Morey and wife Fay of Cartersville, Ga.,
Richard Morey and wife Carol of Barnet, Robert Morey and wife Christine of Lunenburg; two grandchildren:
Henry Morey and Amanda Turgeon; three great grandchildren: Danielle Morey, Billy and Miranda Wright.
She is also survived by a sister Esther Cuthbertson of McIndoe Falls, a brother
Burton Bolton of Glover, a special niece/caregiver Susie Bourtell; two brothers-
in law: Robert Morey and wife Esther of St. Johnsbury Center, Carlton Morey
and wife Jo of South Carolina; three sisters in law: Elaine Noyes of Lyndonville,
Joan Colucci and husband Ralph of West Burke, Gertrude Goodsell and husband
Harry of Wells River, several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 15 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home Wednesday at 11:00
a.m. with Doug Adams officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at the
Passumpsic Cemetery in Waterford.
