Medora Zampieri Boyle, 86, a former resident of Woodsville, passed away
Sunday evening, June 12, 2011 at the Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Fla.
She was born Feb. 3, 1925 in St. Johnsbury, Vt., the daughter of Aime
and Cordelia Boucher. She was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy,
Class of 1944. She married Arthur Zampieri in Bradford, Vt. on June 26, 1948,
and he predeceased her on Oct. 10, 1979. In 1982 she married Richard Boyle of Inverness, Fla.
Medora loved to sing and sang throughout Northern New England
in the 1940s and 50s alongside Charles Hoar and area dance
bands. Medora also worked for years at Hovey's clothing store in
both St. Johnsbury and Woodsville. In later years she ran the surplus food program for Grafton County.
Medora loved antiques, sewing, and getting together weekly with
her lady friends in Woodsville. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son Darryl and wife Deborah of Grantham,
N.H., her sister Anita Coleman and brother Paul Boucher both of
Englewood, Fla. She is predeceased by her sister Lorraine and infant son Peter.
A graveside service will be held on Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. in
Pinehurst Cemetery, South Ryegate, Vt. with Father Craig Cheney officiating.
