Marnel Harran of Lincoln, Ark., died Aug. 27, 2007, in North Little
Rock, Ark., after a short illness. He was 77. Marnel was born
March 9, 1930, in St. Johnsbury, the son of Nelson and Marion
(Tillotson) Harran. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Air
Force. He married J. Roberta Harpin on Nov. 18, 1956, in
Passumpsic. She died on Nov. 9, 2005. Marnel had a love for the
open road and spent many years as a truck driver for St.
Johnsbury Trucking Co., before retiring. He will be greatly missed
by his two sons Franklyn and Howard Harran, both of MaryEsther,
Fla.; two daughters Janel Bedor of Lincoln, Ark., Marja Mayes of
Pace, Fla; one brother Donne Harran of St. Johnsbury; five
grandchildren Sarah Harran, Curtis and Conner Bedor, Austin and
Dylan Mayes. Burial with full military honors will be held at the
Passumpsic Cemetery on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 11 a.m.
John Sleeper will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be
