Marilyn Marshell Johnson , 78, of Newark died on Monday,
September 29, 2003, at her home. Mrs. Johnson was born on
February 26, 1925, in St. Johnsbury, the daughter of the late Fred
and Ruth (Calkins) Marshell. She graduated from St. Johnsbury
Academy in the class of 1943 and Fisher Junior College in Boston
in the class of 1946. She worked at the Fitch Clinic, the Vermont
State Police office in St. Johnsbury, and Hunt Memorial Hospital
in Danvers, Massachusetts. She enjoyed golf and was a member
of the Orleans Country Club. She enjoyed rug hooking and was a
member of the Northeast Rug Hookers. Mrs. Johnson is survived
by her husband, Paul W. Johnson, of Newark; by her three
children and their spouses: Peter and Linda Johnson of Derby
Line, Jane and Paul Carnabuci of Palmyra, Maine, Mark Johnson
and friend, Jill Anderson, of Danville, New Hampshire; by six
grandchildren; by two sisters, Grace and her husband, Harley
Thurber, of California and Francis Dean of Orange,
Massachusetts; by two sisters-in-law, Alice Blair of Danville and
Lucia Pearl and her husband, William, of Danville. There will be
no funeral services. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in St.
Johnsbury at the family's convenience. Those who wish may send
