Marcel G. Plouffe, 82, of Williston, Vt., died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Birchwood
Terrace Heath Care in Burlington with his devoted family by his side.
Marcel was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on Oct. 16, 1930, the son of late Adrien and
Germaine (Cyrenne) Plouffe. After his graduation from St. Johnsbury Trade
School he enlisted in the United States Air Force for four years. On June 23, 1956, he
married Louise Landry. Marcel was employed by the U.S. Government Civil Service as a
quality control inspector for the Defense Contract Department. He was an active member
of the Immaculate Heart of Mary RCC and Cursillo group.
Marcel is survived by his wife Louise of Williston, son Marc G. and
wife Robin of Essex, daughter Nicole Rivolta and husband John of
Williston, daughter Celeste of Burlington, son Richard of Burlington;
grandchildren Molly Wagoner and her husband Sean and Emma
Plouffe, sister Georgette Jacobson, his sister-in-law Velma Plouffe,
brother-in-law Frank G. Landry, DDS, and his wife Rosalie Vear,
sister-in-law Frances Gingue, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Louis "George" Plouffe, and several brothers and
sisters-in-law. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Birchwood
Nursing Home for the care and kindness they showed Marcel during
his time there and the nursing staff at Fletcher Allen Health Care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012,
at 1 p.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in
Williston. Interment will follow in East End Cemetery in Williston. In
lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Marcel's
memory to Alzheimer's Association of VT, 300 Cornerstone Drive,
Suite 128, Williston, VT 05495 or to Edmundite Missions Office,
1428 Broad St., Selma, AL 36701. Visiting hours will be held on
Friday, Nov. 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Ready Funeral
and Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road in Burlington.
