Mrs. Madeline Rutledge, of Waterford, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 14, 2014, at the age
of 87. She had resided at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center for the past year.
She was born on June 8, 1927, the daughter of the late Norman L. and Dora (Boisvert) Noyes.
She grew up in St. Johnsbury and attended St. Johnsbury schools. In 1947 she married Rodney
A. 'Red' Rutledge and they were residents of Waterford since.
Maddy enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, and being outside. Her greatest enjoyment was spending
time with her family and watching them all grow up.
She is survived by a daughter, Iris (Rutledge) Bergeron and her husband Bruce
now of Ocala, Fla.; two sons: Nathan Rutledge of Waterford, Steven Rutledge
and his wife Crystal of Waterford; six grandchildren: Aimee (Bergeron) Bean,
Aaron Bergeron and his wife Amy, Derek Rutledge and his wife Heather, Josh,
Dylan and Jared Rutledge; seven great grandchildren: Arik Bergeron, Katelynn
Bean, Lindsey Bergeron, Jericho Rutledge, Harper Rutledge, Briar Rutledge and
Sophia Rutledge; two sisters: Freda Noyes Clark of St. Johnsbury, Ramona
Bunnell and husband William of Monroe, N.H.; nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by Red, her husband of 65 years, on Sept. 9, 2012; two
sisters: Louise Montgomery, Norma Dimick; and a brother Franklin L. Noyes.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home this
Friday evening, Nov. 21 from 6-8 p.m.
