Leah Davis, longtime Pleasant Street resident of St. Johnsbury, passed
away Sunday morning, March 24, 2013, at the age of 87 in West Boylston, Mass.
She was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on March 31, 1925, the daughter
of Ralph and Lillian (Nichols) Kelsey. She graduated from St.
Johnsbury Academy with the class of 1943. She was predeceased by
her husband Robert W. Davis in 1981.
Leah was an accomplished pianist, wonderful mother and
grandmother. Later in her life she worked with flowers at Evergreen
Gift Shop on Portland Street. She was a member of the North
Congregational Church and was a Sunday school teacher there.
She is survived by three of her four children: Bruce L. Davis and wife
Cathy of Racine, Wis., Lynn R. Paradis and husband Maurice of
Littleton, N.H., Dr. Steven M. Davis and wife Dr. Mary Ellen of West
Boylston, Mass.; her six precious grandchildren: Bruce and Cathy's
son Tyler Davis, Lynn and Maurice's two daughters Kristi Paradis and
Jamie Torres, Steven and Mary Ellen's three children Robbie, Michael
and Meredith Davis. She was predeceased by her youngest child
Marty in 1991. She is survived by a brother Dean Kelsey and his wife
Darlene, a sister Anita Clement, brother-in-law Paul Ekborg,
sister-in-law Theresa Kelsey, sister-in-law Eileen Mitchell as well as
several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by sisters
Doris and Candy, and brothers Larry and Dwight.
Memorial services will be held in St. Johnsbury on Saturday, June 8, at 11 a.m.
at the North Congregational Church. The pastor, the Rev. Jay
Sprout, will officiate. Burial will have taken place at the Lyndon Center Cemetery.
