Laura (Irwin) Cobb , 84, of St. Johnsbury, passed away Thursday,
March 25, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was born in St.
Johnsbury on April 6, 1925, the youngest of five children born to
the late David and Annie (Smith) Irwin. She graduated from St.
Johnsbury Academy. On July 30, 1946, she and Russell G. Cobb
of Danville were united in marriage. She was instrumental in the
operation of their business, Russ Cobb Appliance. For years they
have lived at 3 West Place located just off Pleasant Street. She
loved to play the piano and crochet. Mrs. Cobb was a member of
the Danville United Methodist Church. The Cobbs were former
members of the Grace United Methodist Church in St. Johnsbury.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Russell; four sons,
George Cobb and wife Barbara of Monroe, N.H., Arnold Cobb of
Burlington, James Cobb and wife Mary of Coventry, Steven Cobb
of Danville; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Arla, Patience, Deanna,
and Justin, Christina and Faith, Amanda and Melinda; 10
great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her four siblings also
passed away: her sister Mildred Camuso and her three brothers
John, George and Edward Irwin. Services will be held in Danville
on Monday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at Danville United Methodist
Church. George's pastor, the Rev. Donald Thomas, has been
asked to officiate at the service. Committal services will follow at
the Danville Green Cemetery. Following the committal service,
there will be a luncheon downstairs at the church. Memorial
