NEWPORT, RI - Katherine "Kitty" B. Caputi, 91, of Newport, RI, passed away at
Atria Senior Living in Portsmouth, RI on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She was
the wife of Dr. Anthony P. Caputi.
Born in Lyndonville, Vermont, on March 5, 1923, she was the daughter of the
late Robert and Gertrude Blake. She graduated high school from St. Johnsbury
Academy in 1941, and received a nursing degree from New England Deaconess
Hospital School of Nursing and Simmons College in 1944.
She worked as a Registered Nurse at several hospitals in the Boston area.
She married Dr. Anthony P. Caputi and they resided in his hometown of
Newport, RI. She was a loving wife, beloved mother, an avid tennis player and
active volunteer in the Newport community. She loved and nurtured all animals.
She was predeceased by her two sisters, Frances Eastman and Marjorie Dean of
Vermont. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Dr. Anthony Paul
Caputi, and her daughter Linda Burton and husband Jack, and son Anthony
(Andy) Caputi and his wife Amy.
The family will hold a private memorial service. Burial will be at St. Columba
Cemetery, Middletown, RI.
