Helen P. Cunavelis passed away peacefully Saturday, June 10, 2006.
She was born in St. Johnsbury, the daughter of Peter D.
and Vasiliki K. Cunavelis. Helen's father and his brother were
longtime proprietors of the Concord Candy Kitchen, a St.
Johnsbury landmark. After St. Johnsbury Academy, Helen
graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Boston
University, and later received a master's degree from Columbia
University. Helen was a physical education instructor in the
Peekskill, N.Y., school system, and after retiring, relocated to
Burlington. Survivors include brothers, George and John of
Burlington and James of Shrewsbury, Mass.; her grandnephew,
the "joy of her life," Dylan Harmon LeClair; and relatives in
Greece and Canada as well as the U.S.; and dear friend, Nectar
Rorris and family, among others. Services are scheduled for
Thursday, June 15, 2006, at 11 a.m., at the Greek Orthodox
Church. Visitation will be at Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 71
South Union St., Burlington, Wednesday, June 14, from 5-8 p.m.
with a traditional Trisagion service at 7:30. Interment will take
place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in St. Johnsbury at a later date.

organization of one's choice.
