DUNBAR: Harold Justis Jr. , 80, 159 Pavillion Lane, Barnet, Vt.,
died suddenly Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, of heart failure at his
residence. He was born in Haverhill, N.H., Dec. 28, 1923, son of
Harold J. Dunbar Sr. and Aileen Marie (White). He was a veteran
of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. Harold owned and
operated Dunbar Plumbing and Heating Inc. for 40 years in
Barnet, retiring in 1987. Harold was a member of Washburn
Masonic Lodge F & AM 92 Danville; past member of Mt. Sinai
Shrine, Montpelier, Vt.; IOOF CT River Lodge, Barnet; member
the Barnet Board of Civil Authority; served on the school board for
18 years; member and former fire chief of Barnet Fire Department
for many years; justice of the peace; and director of the West
Barnet Meal Site. Surviving relatives include his wife of 58 years,
Barbara (Moore) Dunbar of Barnet; one son, Duane H. Dunbar
and Londa Grant of Boothbay Harbor, Maine; two daughters,
Paula J. Nye and William of Valdese, N.C., and Bonnie Easter
and Don of West Barnet, Vt.; three grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Dunbar of McIndoe Falls,
Vt.; one sister, Pauline Hart of Wells River, Vt.; and several
nieces, nephews and cousins. Three brothers predeceased him,
Neil G., Dean and Robert Dunbar. It was Harold's wish that there
be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Saturday,
Oct. 16, at 1:30 p.m., in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Route 5,
Barnet, Vt. A close friend of the family, Mr. Fran Zaletta, will
officiate. It is requested by the family that memorials be made to
the Barnet Fire Department, 160 Church St., Barnet, VT 05821.
