BURDETTE: Gordon Leon , 74, of Winter Haven, Fla., died
Monday after a prolonged illness. Born in Concord, Vt., the son of
Leon and Gertrude (Remick) Burdette, he lived many years in
Concord before moving to Florida in 1984. He graduated from St.
Johnsbury Academy in Vermont, Class of 1947 and the Burdett
Business College in Boston, Class of 1949. He served with the
United States Air Force during World War II. He worked as a
manager for the Beneficial Finance Co., both in Vermont and New
Hampshire. He also worked for the Ridge Glass and Mirror Co. in
Florida. He was a member of the Lions Club of Littleton and
Concord. He was an avid golfer and a former member of the
Beaver Meadow Golf Club. Through his life his family was of
incredible importance to him. Besides his parents, he was
predeceased by one son, Michael Burdette of California; and one
sister, Marilyn McKerley of Penacook, N.H. He leaves his wife of
54 years, Eunice Hubbard of Florida; one son, Paul Burdette of
Auburn, Maine, and his wife, Jeanne; two daughters, Sharon
Lupien and her husband Hank of Bow, and Eileen Corbett and her
husband Bruce of Concord, N.H.; two sisters, Frances Whitney of
Essex Junction, Vt., and Joanne Wilson of Andover, N.H.; seven
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews. Private graveside services will be held in Maple Grove
Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at the West
Congregational Church Friday at 2 p.m. Pastor Charles Heslam
will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to
the West Congregational Church, 499 North State St., Concord, NH 03303.
