BURLINGTON - Gisele Rita Royer, 82, formerly of Barre, passed away at
Fletcher Allen Health Care Medical Center Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, in
Burlington, with her family by her side.
Gisele was born in St. Johnsbury on May 22, 1930, to Alfred and Jeanne (Gingras) Laliberte.
Gisele married Lee Royer in 1951 and moved to Long Island, N.Y., where
she had three sons. After a short period of living in Dallas, the family moved back to Vermont in 1966.
Gisele was very proud of her Catholic faith and had been a longtime parishioner of St. Monica
Parish in Barre and was also very proud of her French Canadian heritage. Gisele was also a
member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society. Survivors include her three loving sons,
Rick Royer and his wife, Karen, of Colchester, Paul Royer and his wife, Lynn, of Essex Junction,
and Martin Royer, of Burbank, Calif.; her sister, Yoland Messier, of Williamsburg, Va.;
and two grandchildren, Cory Royer, of Las Vegas, and Ryan Royer, of Essex Junction.
Gisele was predeceased by her husband, Lee, in 2003.
The family would like to offer sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Converse Home
in Burlington for their outstanding care and loving support they gave to Gisele.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Monica Church in Barre on Thursday,
Feb. 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home,
58 Summer St., Barre, on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Additional parking is
available across the street in the St. Monica parking lot. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
that donations in memory of Gisele be made to the Arthritis Foundation , 6 Chenell Drive, Suite 260, Concord, NH 03301.
