Ernestine Turner Reagan of St. Johnsbury passed away on Aug. 28, 2014, at the age of 83.
She was born in Barnet, Vt., on May 18, 1931, the daughter of Ernest and Nellie (Wright) Turner.
On Jan. 30, 1950, she married Robert Reagan, who predeceased her on Dec. 15, 2009.
Known to most people as "Ernie," she was employed for many years as a secretary at Reed's Supply.
In the late '70s Robert and Ernie owned and operated Point Comfort
Resort on Joe's Pond until selling it in 1999. During her
retirement she also worked part time at Hovey's Shop.
Ernie enjoyed auctions, lawn sales and getting a great
bargain. Even in advancing years she continued her hard Ernestine Turner Reagan
work ethics, helping the family gather firewood on her daughter Lorri's land,
every small piece made it into the truck.
Ernestine is survived by her three children: Thomas Reagan of North Concord,
Lorri Ham and husband Clayton of Sutton, Cindi Hovey and husband Don of St.
Johnsbury; two grandchildren: Marci and Keith Gadwah; two great-
grandchildren: Emily and Joel: and a brother, Richard Turner of Milford, N.H.
She was predeceased by a grandson Adam Hovey on June 20, 2010.
Graveside services will be held at the Peacham Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to VT Vermont Chapter of Alzheimer's,
300 Cornerstone Drive, Suite 128, Williston, VT 05446.
