Elsie (Burns) Hurter, passed away on October 31,2018 in her Plymouth home at the age of 93. Elsie was predeceased by Bill her loving husband of 70 years.
After receiving college degrees at Curry and Harvard, Elsie became a beloved teacher of learning disabled students, and in North Carolina, an adult literacy teacher.
She was a 50 year member and past president of PEO. She loved to sing, and participated in a number of singing groups and choirs.
She is survived by her daughter Lesley Hurter and her husband John Gatley of Plymouth; and her sons, Bruce Hurter and wife Madeleine Entel of Wellfleet; Donald Hurter and his wife Patricia Hurter of Winter Park, Florida; and Robert Hurter and his wife Lisa Hurter, of Shrewsbury.
She will be greatly missed by her 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of her life at the Church of the Pilgrimage in Plymouth, on Friday, November 16 at 10:30AM, and a celebration this summer in Ocean Park, ME.
