Elizabeth M. "Betty" Moulton , of Main Street in St. Johnsbury,
passed away Saturday, June 10, 2006. Born in Johnson on Oct.
7, 1923, Betty was one of eight children born to Alfred and Helen
(Bailey) Shore. Five of her siblings predeceased her: William
"Xerxes," Francis, Alfred "Gator," Bailey "Sonny," and Lucretia
"Kitty." A 1941 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy, she served in
the Marines during WWII. Her husband, Burt, died in 1964 when
she was only 41. Many may remember Betty working at the
Village Washtub and at the Fairbanks Museum Gift Shop. In her
early working years, she was employed at St. Johnsbury
Trucking. She is survived by her son George "Chet" Moulton
(1431 Main St. 05819); two grandchildren: Garth Moulton and his
wife Jessica of San Carlos, Calif., Chava Moulton and Matt
Therrien of Orange, Mass.; two great-grandchildren: Bennett
Moulton and Emerson Therrien; one brother, Dean Shore of West
Charlestown, N.H.; one sister, Mary Chartland of Fitchburg, Mass.
The family will observe her passing with a family graveside
service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a time yet to be decided.
