Christie W. (Whitehill) Valluzzi , of Carver, Mass., formerly of Norwell,
Mass., died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, in Centerville, Mass., at the age of 78.
Christie was born April 9, 1928, in St. Johnsbury, Vt., to David and Abigail
(Welch) Whitehill. She lived in Norwell before moving to Carver in 1983.
She lived in South Meadow Village in Carver. She worked for John Hancock
as a clerk for 12 years, until 1990. She worked at Sears in Hanover, Mass.,
in the 1970s. She was also a teacher and librarian in Connecticut. She was
a member of the South Meadow Village Garden Club and member of the
United Parish in Carver. She enjoyed reading and knitting. She was the
wife of the late Joseph J. Valluzzi; mother of Deborah Pratt and her
husband Stephen of Carver; sister of Margaret Paulsen of North Carolina,
and the late Albert, Alvin, Austin, John, Lynwood, Helen Whitehill and
Annie Crown; and grandmother of Christopher and Michael Pratt of
Carver. Calling hours will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, from 5-8 p.m.
at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St. (Route 58), Carver, Mass. A
funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at the United Parish
Church in Carver at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Washington Street
Cemetery in Norwell. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's
