Charles R. Moulton of School Street in St. Johnsbury passed away peacefully
at home Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at the age of 89.
Charles was born in St. Johnsbury on Feb. 16, 1924, the son of George and
Helen (Dean) Moulton. After graduating from St. Johnsbury Trade School in
1942, he went to work at Fairbanks. During WWII he entered the Army Air
Corps and served as an advanced radio operator in China. When the war ended,
he returned to Fairbanks, the only place he ever worked. He retired as a product engineer.
His family will remember him as a wonderful son, husband, father, and grandfather.
He loved to go to hunting camp with his sons-in-law and grandsons,
his brother-in-law Ralph Dodge and good friend Leslie White. Charles
and Madeline enjoyed camping with the family in Maine, vacationing
in Disney World, and taking their road trips with Richard and Nancy Bohlen.
He is survived by his wife Madeline whom he married April 18,
1946; two daughters: Dianne Rolfe and husband Tim of St. Johnsbury,
Joanne Bugbee and husband Michael of West Danville; five
grandchildren: Sean Rolfe and wife Danica, Dan Rolfe, Travis Bugbee
and wife Amanda, Derek Bugbee and wife Andrea, Ethan Bugbee and
wife Althea; eight great-grandchildren: Sierra, Myles, Piper and Ruby
Rolfe; Samuel, Andrew and Max Bugbee; and Solomon Brown. He was
predeceased by an infant son Dean, sisters Marion and Arlene, and a brother Burt.
Graveside services will be held in St. Johnsbury this Friday, Aug. 30, at
11 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. His nephew, the Rev. George
Waterman will officiate at the service.
