Carroll Wesley White , 76, of Barnet, Vt., died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007,
at his residence. He was born in Barnet on March 22, 1931, the son
of Abbott Wesley and Leta (Rollins) White. Wesley graduated from St.
Johnsbury Trade School, Class of 1949. He served with the U.S. Air
Force from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War. He worked as a
board sawyer at his saw mill on Route 5 and also ran an adjacent
family owned garage and gas station. He closed the saw mill in 1992
and went to work at EHV Wiedman in St. Johnsbury, Vt., for several
years as a night watchman. Wesley was a life-long Barnet resident
and he enjoyed meals at the West Barnet senior meal site and
country music. Survivors include a sister, Joan Bryant of Waterford,
Vt.; four nieces and nephews, Diana Rice of Marlboro, Mass., Debra
Lawson of Waterford, Vt., Rocklyn Rice of Concord, Vt., and Richard
Bryant of Marlboro, Mass.; a special friend, Barbara Gabor of
Greencastle, Ind.; and several grand- and great-grand nieces and
nephews. A calling hour will be on Friday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 2 p.m.
with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home,
1 Birch St., Woodsville, N.H., with the Rev. John Sanderson from the
Presbyterian Church of Barnet at West Barnet officiating. Burial will
follow at the Barnet Center Cemetery, Barnet Center, Vt. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Barnet
Senior Meal Site, c/o Mrs. Audrey Bogie, Rural Route 1 Box 27, East
