Betty D. Moore , age 85, of West Haven, Conn., formerly of
Milford, beloved wife of the late Frank Roy Moore, passed away
on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, in Connecticut Hospice, Branford.
Daughter of the late Frank and Rita Rash Louis, she was born on
March 14, 1924, in St. Johnsbury, Vt. Betty was a graduate of St.
Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1942. She was employed as a
bookkeeper by the former Talon Zipper of Milford for 31 years.
Betty was a lover of animals, a birdwatcher, and an avid sports
fan, especially tennis, Red Sox, Giants, and UConn basketball.
Survivors include her devoted daughters, Carol Bartimole of West
Haven, Conn., and Dawn Mitchell of Cape Cod, Mass.; and a
daughter-in-law, Carm Armino of West Haven; three cherished
granddaughters, Terri Laughner of West Haven, Tina Dent and
her husband Paul of Glen Allon, Va., and Jessica Rowan and her
husband Bill of Guilford, Conn.; and six great-grandchildren,
Danielle, Joey, Christina, Olivia, Emma, and Rachel. She was
predeceased by grandson, Aaron Mitchell. A funeral service will
be held on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the First and
Wesley United Methodist Church, 89 Center St., West Haven,
followed by a committal in King's Highway Cemetery, Milford.
Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cody
White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St. on the Green, Milford.
