PERKINS: Bernard K. , 80, of Waterford, passed away surrounded by his
family, Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in
Lebanon, N.H. He was born in St. Johnsbury, March 20, 1922, the son of
John and Elizabeth (Scott) Perkins. Mr. Perkins served his country during
World War II in the U.S. Army. For over 18 years he worked at the Sears
Co. on Eastern Avenue in the parts and repair department; he also worked
for the St. Johnsbury Fire Department for 10 years. Other interests included
membership in the Shrine, Masons, and the Caledonia Field and Stream
Club, where he had been president. He had a strong relationship with the
DAV. On Jan. 9, 1942 he married Bernice Remick, who survives him in
Waterford. Other survivors include three daughters and their spouses,
Lynda and Michael Morgan of Waterford, Roxanna and Douglas Jones of
St. Johnsbury, and Stacy and Rodney Call of Waterford; one brother,
Wayne and wife Glenda Perkins of St. Johnsbury; six grandchildren,
Michael Lacaillade, Chad Lacaillade, Michael Morgan, Jennifer Jones,
Jason Call and Kaitlin Call; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Bernard Bruce Perkins, in
1967. Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
