CLARK GRAVEL: Anita M. (Langlois) , 75, a resident of Springfield, Mass. for
over 53 years and formerly of St. Johnsbury, died early Tuesday morning
at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in St. Johnsbury,
the daughter of the late George and Josephine (Boucher) Langlois, and
was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1945. Mrs. Clark Gravel
moved to Springfield in 1949 and was employed for several years in the
music department of the former Kresges Department Store, located on
Main Street in Springfield. She retired in the late 1980s, after several years
as a sales clerk, from J.C. Penney Co., located in the Eastfield Mall. Mrs.
Clark Gravel was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church, and was
the wife of the late James F. Clark, who died in 1975, and Ronald Gravel,
who died in 1988. She leaves five sons, Ronald K. Clark of Palmdale, Calif.,
Laurence J. "Larry" Clark of East Longmeadow, Mass., Timothy K. "Tim"
Clark of Springfield, Mass., and twins Gary B. Clark of Granby, Conn., and
Glen R. Clark of Wilbraham, Mass.; two stepchildren, Ronald Gravel of
Marblehead, Mass., and Chris Gosselin of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; one
brother, Edward Langlois of St. Johnsbury; three sisters, Yvonne Bedard of
St. Johnsbury, Rose Cyr of Redwood City, Calif., and Cecile Rancour of
Burlington; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandson; many nieces, nephews,
grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and her beloved pet and friend Tia. She was
predeceased by two sisters, Lorraine Kane and Gloria Greene. Calling
hours will be held Thursday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield,
Mass. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, at 8:30 a.m., from the
funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St.
Catherine of Siena Church, with Rites of Committal in St. Michael's
Cemetery in Springfield. Cointributions in her memory may be made to the
