Anita Kelsey Clement, 88, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Monday April 2, 2018 at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Clement. Anita was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on September 23, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian Nichols Kelsey. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1947. Anita and her late husband had been very active in organizations such as the local ARC chapter, which advocated and provided services for those with special needs. Anita was a long term supporter of the Special Olympics, which her daughter Jeanne participated in for many years. Devoted homemaker and dearly loved mother of Carol Delfino, Nancy (Carlos) Ceballos and Jeanne Clement. Cherished grandmother of Christopher and Jillian Ceballos. Sister of Dean (Darlene) Kelsey and the late Lawrence Kelsey, Doris Legendre, Candace Ekborg, Leah Davis and Dwight Kelsey. Also survived by sister-in-law Theresa Kelsey and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 3 Trumbull Place, North Haven on Saturday morning April 14, 2018 at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. John’s Memorial Garden. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Connecticut, 2666 State Street, Suite 1, Hamden, CT 06517.
