Walter C. Bradley , of Danville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at
the age of 89. He was born in St. Johnsbury July 5, 1917, the son of Louis
and Grace (Routier) Bradley. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy
with the Class of 1937. In his time, he was quite a runner, he set the
Academy record for the mile three consecutive years. His 4:35 record stood
for 26 years. He also was part of the Academy ski team. He married Joyce
Church on March 9, 1957. Both he and Joyce worked at Fairbanks, Walter
as a master machinist. Together they also operated an antique and clock
repair shop out of their home on Route 2B in Danville. Joyce passed away
June 5, 2000. Walter was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and
served in France. He is survived by a few cousins and Joyce's family.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m., at the Danville
Green Cemetery. Friend and Route 2B neighbor Robert Hallas will officiate.
Friends and family will gather at Sayles Funeral Home from 10-10:30 a.m.
prior to leaving for the cemetery for the 11 a.m. graveside service.
