LYNDONVILLE _ Ruth E. Barrett, 94, of Lyndonville, passed away
peacefully on Thursday, August 9th, 2012, at the Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester.
Ruth was born in St. Johnsbury on March 31, 1918, the daughter of Carroll
and Mildred Tillotson Jenne. She graduated from the St. Johnsbury Academy with the Class of 1936.
On August 11, 1941, she married Alfred L. Barrett in St. Johnsbury and together they began their family.
For many years Ruth worked for CVPS until moving to Lyndonville in the
mid 1940's, where she worked for Flowerland when her children were in
school. Ruth was very active in her church and involved in many clubs and
local activities, and bowling was her favorite sport. She lived life to the fullest and on her own terms.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Joanne Gregoire and her husband Bill;
her son Gary; her daughter Cynthia Griffith and her husband Peter; her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren including T.J. Gregoire, his wife
Heather and their daughter Kaylee; Brian Gregoire, his wife Jess and their
children Matthew and Gabrielle; Alfred Barrett and his wife Shauna,
daughter Jasmine and a very new son; Kristina Barrett and her companion
Alex; and also her daughter-in-law, Linda Barrett, who cared for Ruth at
home for many years. She is also survived by her sisters Carole Hamlett
and Dorothy Nicholson, and her husband Howard, as well as many nieces
and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Al in 1976 and her brother Harlan in 1968.
Ruth's family wants to give a very special thank you to all of the staff at the
Green Mountain Nursing Home who lovingly cared for our mother during
her stay. They are a wonderful group of caring individuals.

Mountain Nursing Home (Activities Fund) at 475 Ethan Allen Ave., Colchester, VT, 05446.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at
Pearsons Funeral Home in Lyndonville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, at the
Lyndonville United Methodist Church interment will following in the East St. Johnsbury Cemetery.
