Ralph H. Peters passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 16, 2010 at the St.
Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center at the age of 91. He was formerly a
resident of High Street in St. Johnsbury. He was born in St. Johnsbury on
Feb. 4, 1919, one of seven sons born to Walter and Mary (Ramsey) Peters.
Ralph served in the Army's 978th Field Artillery Battalion in the European
theatre during WWII. He worked for years in the dial room at Fairbanks. He
was a life member of VFW Post #793 and the American Legion Post #58.
Ralphy also had a lot of fun playing golf at the St. Johnsbury Country Club.
Someone in his family reflects Ralph didn't have a mean bone in his body.
He was predeceased by his wife Miriam (Abbott) (Sinclair) Peters; by three
of Miriam's daughters: Lorraine Smith, Geraldine Rundgren, and Lorretta
Sinclair, and by his six brothers: Walter, Phillip, Adelbert, Richard, Wesley,
and Robert Peters. He is survived by a stepson Wayland Sinclair and a
step-daughter Nancy Isham; Miriam's 16 grandchildren and their families;
nieces and nephews. Burial with military honors will be held Thursday, May
19 at 10 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in St. Johnsbury. Anyone
wishing to attend is welcome. Memorial contributions, marked for 'Youth
