MacIVER: Ralph B. , 89, of Westfield, Mass., formerly of St. Johnsbury, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at the Noble Hospital in Westfield. He was born in St. Johnsbury, Jan. 10, 1913, the son of Donald and Sarah (Fleming) MacIver. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1934. Mr. MacIver was a member of the U.S. Air Force, serving his country during World War II, participating in D-Day crossing the Rhine, and spending two years in occupied Japan. He served in the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1954 in Seoul, South Korea. Ralph received the Bronze Star along with several other decorations. Survivors include his daughter, Jane Murray of Massachusetts; his brother, William "Bill" MacIver of St. Johnsbury; three nieces, Susan and husband Joseph Palmieri of Lyndonville, Ann MacIver of St. Johnsbury, and Nina Sibole of Portsmouth, N.H. He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred S. Robbins, Dec. 25, 2000, and a brother, John MacIver in June 1986. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 14, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, with the Rev. John Marshall officiating. There will be no calling hours. A service will be held in Westfield, Mass., at a later date.
