TIERNEY: Patricia Mary "Pat," formerly of Clarks Avenue in St.
Johnsbury, passed away at the St. Johnsbury Health and
Rehabilitation Center, Thursday morning, Nov. 1, 2001. She was
born in St. Johnsbury May 20, 1920, the daughter of John Patrick
and Lillian (Ryan) Tierney. She attended graded school at Mt. St.
Joseph Catholic School and graduated from St. Johnsbury
Academy in 1938. After graduating from college, she studied and
taught acting in New York City. She returned to St. Johnsbury and
spent a meaningful career in social service with the state of
Vermont. She and cousin Sheila Cordeau made their home
together at the former 22 Clarks Ave. Sheila died Jan 13, 2000.
Before entering the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation
Center, Pat resided at Woodside House in Danville. She was
parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church. Although she has
no immediate family, Pat did have many friends who admired her
personality, spunk and perseverance. She will also be missed by
her "family" at the health and rehab center. Her funeral Mass,
celebrated by the Rev. Joseph A. Lively, will be held Saturday at
11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. A luncheon and time of
remembrance will follow downstairs at the church. There will be
no visiting hours. Memorial contributions may be directed to either
