MARION S. CLOUGH, WINOOSKI - Marion S. Clough, 90, a longtime
resident of Winooski died peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 5, 2010,
following a short illness. Marion was born in Peacham on March 4, 1920, the
daughter of Dennis and Ida (Perry) Hance. She was married at a minister's
home in Enosburg on March 25, 1938, to Arthur Clough, who predeceased
her on Oct. 23, 1985. She was employed for many years at Henry's Diner in
Burlington. Marion is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Mailman; a grandson,
Bryan Mailman; her very special greatgrandson, Jason; a very special best
friend and caregiver of 20 years, Jim Tatro; many nieces, including Carol
Guillemette and her husband, Roger, Nancy Smith, and Betty Domina and
her husband, Wallace; her oldest and dearest fishing buddies, Bill and Ellen
Hovencamp; her going to dinner group, Pat and Kathy Downs, Tish
Calderwood, and Lucy and Vic Fremeau. Mary always had a sense of humor.
She loved to laugh and that carried her through all the hard times in her life.
Her family offers their sincere gratitude to her special caregiver with the VNA,
Mary Meunier, Guylaine Blanchette, Casey Unwin, Mae Roberts, Mary
McDermott, longtime nurse, Peggy Shepard, Helen Turcotte of Champlain
Valley Agency on Aging, and her doctors, Dr. Robert Luebbers and Dr. Neil
Hyman. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, May 9, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the
LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St. in Winooski. Graveside services will be
held on Monday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at the East Franklin Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse
Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT 05446.
