OVITT: Margaret M., 82, a lifelong Danville resident, died
Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at the St. Johnsbury Health and
Rehabilitation Center. Margaret was born March 28, 1919, the
daughter of Clyde Bailey and Mary Elizabeth Morin Ovitt. She was
a graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy, and had worked for
Palmer Brothers laundry service, Woolworths Department Store
and St. Johnsbury Trucking. She enjoyed both vegetable and
flower gardening, camping, traveling and crafts. Margaret is
survived by three sisters, Charlotte Simpson of St. Johnsbury,
Ann Ovitt of Danville, and Madeline Storey of Americus, Ga.; a
sister-in-law, Marjorie Ovitt of Passumpsic; and several nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers,
Frederick Ovitt, Richard H. Ovitt and Charles Wesley Ovitt. A
memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 8, at 11 a.m., at
the Sayles Funeral Home, located at 525 Summer Street in St.
Johnsbury, with the Rev. John Somers officiating. Memorial
contributions may be made in Margaret's name to either the
Danville Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 255, Danville, VT 05828, or
Passumpsic Community Baptist Church, in care of Mrs. Pauline
Urie, 1583 County Hill Road, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819-8459.
