Elwood Neil Davio , 87, of Young Street, Newport, Vt., died peacefully
Dec. 12, 2007, in Barton, Vt. He was born Oct. 11, 1920, in Newport, a son
of Edward and Weltha (Magoon) Davio. On July 22, 1942, he married
Angeline Moyer who survives him. He graduated from Newport High
School and St. Johnsbury Academy. Mr. Davio was postmaster for the
Newport post office for many years. Among his hobbies, he enjoyed
gardening, stamp and coin collecting and bowling. He is survived by his
wife, Angeline Davio of Newport; a son, Brandon Davio of Newport;
daughters Theresa Drake and her husband, Philip of Derby, Vt., and Cheryl
Davio of Deerfield Beach, Fla. He is also survived by his grandchildren,
Paula Gratton and her husband, Ronnie of Fairfax, Scott Drake of
Gravensport, N.Y., Doug Drake and his wife, Tammy of Troy, and Rhonda
Drake of Underhill; and by three great-grandchildren, Nate, Tia, and Emma
Drake; and by his brothers and sisters, Francis Ormsbee and his wife,
Amelia of Newport, Kenneth Ormsbee of Texas, Joan McDonald and her
husband, Ken of East Charleston, and Alma Blake of Coventry. Private
funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Should
