DesTROISMAISONS: Bertha (Banks) , 89, formerly of St. Johnsbury and Montpelier, passed away in Florida, Thursday, June 19, 2003. She had been residing at 53 Sunny Shore Drive in Ormond Beach. She was born in St. Johnsbury, Sept. 22, 1913, the daughter of Hyram and Bridget (Scanlan) Banks. She was married to husband Albert for 60 years, until his death on Nov. 14, 1998. The DesTroismaisons were longtime residents of 91/2 Jay Street in Montpelier. Mrs. DesTroismaisons retired after 35 years as the food and beverage manager for the Tavern Motor Inn in Montpelier. She and her husband moved to Ormond Beach, Fla., in 1972, where she was a parishioner of St. Brendan's Church in Ormond Beach. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and other extended family. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in St. Johnsbury. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours and an evening vigil service will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home, Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Florida arrangements were by Haigh-Black Funeral Home in Ormond Beach, Fla.
