Anna Lane Clifford Knapp , 89 of Creek Farm Road, Colchester,
died peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, in Birchwood Terrace
Healthcare in Burlington. Anne was born June 26, 1917, in St.
Johnsbury, the daughter of the late Harry and Katherine Shaw
Clifford. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy with the
Class of 1937. On Oct. 6, 1942, she married Milton F. Knapp in
St. Johnsbury Center. She was employed for several years at
various automotive dealerships in the St. Johnsbury area and was
a lifelong member of the Congregational Church in St. Johnsbury
Center. An avid and enthusiastic square dancer, Anna also loved
attending garage sales and enjoyed bartering for deals. She is
survived by her husband of over 64 years, Milton Knapp Sr. of
Colchester; and their children, Rick Knapp and his fianc? Leona
of Colchester, and Stephen Knapp and his wife Pamela of
Columbus, Ohio; her brother-in-law, Robert A. Knapp and his wife
Jackie of Colchester; two nieces, Doris Fortier and her husband
Maurice of Barre, and Marie Perrigo of Barre; and her nephew,
Drussel Coffin Jr and his wife Polly of Caribou, Maine. Besides
being predeceased by her parents, she was predeceased by her
stepfather, Harley C. Roberts; her three sisters and their
husbands, Lois and Perley Patterson, Marjorie and Drussell
Coffin, and Doris and Murph Desrochers; and her nephew, Harry
Perrigo. Special thanks are extended to Birchwood Terrace A
wing for the kind and compassionate care extended to Anne and
her family during her stay with them. A funeral service will be held
on Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at 2 p.m., in the Minor Funeral Home
with the Rev. Jeffrey Cornwell officiating. Burial will be held in the
St. Johnsbury Cemetery later in the spring. In memory of the
"Mother to the Shriners of Burlington Cellarsavers," it is requested
that contributions be made to the Shriner's "100 Million Dollar
Club," in care of Charles T. Baker, 51 Washington St., Rutland, VT 05701.
