BARNETT: Anna Frances , 84, of St. Johnsbury, died
Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical
Center in Lebanon, N.H. She was born in St. Johnsbury, July 18, 1919,
the daughter of William and Mildred (Jay) Brickett. A
graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1937, she went on
to the Brightlook School of Nursing, where she received an RN
degree in 1940. Anna was a lifetime member of the Grace United
Methodist Church where she participated in the United Methodist
Women, Jr. Woman's Club, and Rose Fellowship. She was very
fond of knitting for family and made many mittens for the Santa
Fund. Her love of chicken pie suppers is known throughout the
area. In 1941, she married John "Kipy" Barnett, who predeceased
her Aug. 6, 1993. Survivors include two daughters and their
husbands, Linda and John Garey of Haverhill, N.H., and Cynthia
and Barry Waldner of St. Johnsbury; eight grandchildren and
spouses, Rick and Brenda Garey, Marylynn and Troy Wright, Lisa
and Mark Avery, Kelly and Stephen Loosigian, Sarah and Michael
Wright, Zachary, Joshua and Chelsea Waldner; 101/2
great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She
also leaves a special friend, Elanor Hale Roy of St. Johnsbury;
luncheon friends, Trudy Crosby and Madeline Ash; three
sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law. She was predeceased by a
brother, Franklin "Sonny" Brickett and his wife Vera. Memorial
services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, Sunday,
at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Marshall officiating. There will be no
visiting hours; however, a reception will follow the service at the
church. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
contributions in her memory may be made to the Grace United
Methodist Church (Organ Fund), 36 Central St., St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.
