Alberta "Bertha" M. Fillion , 85, of Farr Hill Road, Littleton, N.H., passed
away Jan. 19, 2005, at Littleton Regional Hospital. Bertha was a daughter
born to George and Alma (Heon) Pepin on Sept. 25, 1919, in St.
Johnsbury, Vt.; she was one of 12 children. She attended schools in St.
Johnsbury before going to work as a seamstress. On June 10, 1946, she
married Edward J. Fillion and moved to Littleton, N.H. Together they raised
four sons. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Bertha enjoyed
bowling with the women's league at Meadow Lanes, and proudly displayed
the many trophies she won. She will be remembered for her quick smile
and laughter. A communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Bertha was a
member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Bellefleur No.
1208. She was also a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary Post 1816.
She is survived by her children James, John and Peter of Littleton, N.H.,
and Paul of Eagle, Colo. She is also survived by one brother, Maurice
Pepin of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; two sisters, Sr. Juliette Pepin of Winooski, Vt.,
and Germain Morron of Breckenridge, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews. Bertha was predeceased by her husband, Ed, on
Jan. 5, 2005. The family will receive friends at the Pillsbury Funeral Home,
101 Union Street, Littleton, on Friday evening, Jan. 21, 2005, from 6:30-8
p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday morning, Jan. 22,
at 10 a.m., at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the Rev. Daniel J.
Sinibaldi of Woodsville as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Rose
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to
the North Country Home Health Agency, 536 Cottage St., Littleton, NH
03561; or Hospice of the Littleton Area, 600 St. Johnsbury Road, Littleton, NH 03561.
