JOHNSON: Harriette Winifred (Conly) (Benoit) , 93, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center, Lyndonville, Vt. She was born in St. Johnsbury, Jan. 20, 1911, the daughter of Herbert and Glenn (Tisdale) Conly. She was a 1929 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy. Many will remember her years, 1961 to retirement in 1975, as co-owner and bookkeeper at Benoit's in St. Johnsbury. On June 7, 1934, she married George B. Benoit, who predeceased her Jan. 18, 1961. On March 28, 1978, she married Claude B. Johnson, who predeceased her Oct. 20, 1992. Survivors include daughters, Brenda Giordano of Delran, N.J., and Susan Krinsky Horn of Newbern, Va.; sons, Herbert Benoit of Bow, N.H., and Bruce Benoit of East St. Johnsbury; a brother, Douglas Conly of St. Johnsbury; a sister, Mildred Adams of East St. Johnsbury; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by a brother, William Conly of East St. Johnsbury. Graveside services will be held at Grove Cemetery, East St. Johnsbury, Saturday, July 17, at 11 a.m. There will be no visiting hours.
