Although this cemetery no longer exist, a listings was generated by the following;
Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery at the end of Washington Ave. was established in 1859 and closed in 1876.
The land for Mt. Calvary cemetery was purchased in 1876 because Mt. St. Joseph wasn't large enough.
It has been said that all graves in Mt St. Joseph were moved to Mt. Calvary cemetery.
Mt Calvary has 140 graves where they died before 1877, and two died in 1857.
The map at the bottom of this page, shows (in darker green) where these 140 graves are buried in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
This listings are of these 140 graves.

Note #1 |
Allen Lumber Company recently uncovered an "inscription block" from a granite grave monument near the railroad depot that is identical to the one located in Mt. Calvary cemetery. This stone has additional inscriptions as follows, "To the memory of Felix Rooney of the Parish of Killasnet County of Leitrim Ireland" It's unknown where the stone came from. Experts speculate it was the original block from the old Mt. Saint Joseph cemetery monument. |
