DILLON FARM CEMETERY |
The Dillons owned two places in 1858. The W. Dillon farm was at the end of town
road 33. The R. Dillon farm was on
town road 18. The two burials there
are listed in Vital Records as being on the Old Dillon Farm. The Dillons came from Ireland to Boston and
in 1852 to Vermont. The R. Dillon farm
remained in the family until the 1960's.
Mrs. William Gladding made note of what was on the two stones. They
were to be found near town road 18 and a line fence until 1969. According to a neighbor they disappeared
when the new road was built. (In 1994
the 3 stones were said to be recently in the barn of the R. Dillon farm - the
old Gladding farm.) |

GOULD CEMETERY |
The Gould cemetery was located in the Gould Hill section of the
town near Town Road 36 on what was once the David Gould farm, now land in the
Sparrow family. The stones are in a
pile, broken and disarranged.
Reportedly, they were thrown aside about fifty years ago. It was said there were two to three dozen
graves. The cards indicate a number of
stone not found in the 1970's. |
